Buchanan, NY

The Village of Buchanan is located in the northwestern corner of Westchester County on the eastern bank of the Hudson River, 20 miles north of White Plains. The Village is part of the Town of Cortlandt.

Many village residents are employees of the Indian Point Power plant, now owned and operated by Entergy Corporation, an integrated energy company engaged primarily in electric power production, retail distribution operations, energy marketing and trading

In Lent’s Cove Park, a park adjacent to the Indian Point power plant, there is a restored footpath to the river known as the Tropiano Trail, in recognition of a village trustee who was instrumental in the trail’s rebirth as a nature trail for hikers and river enthusiasts.
