The Early Music Chamber Singers under the direction of Lisa Kumaradjaja, presents “Harmonies of the Renaissance and Baroque”: An Evening of Sacred Choral Music by Tallis, Victoria, Byrd, and More.
This program showcases some of the most beautiful and powerful works from the early modern period, with a particular focus on the intricate and expressive harmonies that were a hallmark of this era.
Featuring works by renowned composers such as Thomas Tallis, Tomás Luis de Victoria, and William Byrd, this program is a moving and unforgettable experience that will transport audiences to another time and place. From the lush polyphony of Tallis to the expressive simplicity of Palestrina, each piece on the program offers a unique and unforgettable listening experience, and a powerful reminder of the beauty and power of sacred choral music.”The music of the Renaissance and Baroque periods is some of the most beautiful and powerful music ever written,” says Lisa. “These works showcase the skill and craftsmanship of some of the greatest composers of all time and offer a profound and moving experience for audiences of all ages and backgrounds.”
The concert takes place at Christ Episcopal Church, 43 S. Broadway, Tarrytown, NY on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, at 3:00pm.
