Roost Restaurant and Union Arts Center are pleased to present two new
\nexhibitions featuring the work of Andrea Baruffi and Suzanne Auer.
\nIn Gallery 1, Andrea Baruffi showcases a collection of prints made from his
\noriginal acrylic paintings. Baruffi\u2019s artistic style is characterized by
\nwhimsy and humor. Many of the original acrylic paintings, from which the
\n\u201cPlayful\u201d series of art prints are made, range in size from 60\u2033 x 80\u2033 to
\n80\u2033 x 80\u2033. They are available for purchase directly from the artist\u2019s
\nstudio, located two hours north of Florence. His work is widely exhibited
\nthroughout Italy.
\nBaruffi, a former illustrator and longtime resident of Piermont, returned
\nto Italy after his retirement, having worked in New York for major
\nadvertising agencies and children\u2019s book publishers. He received classical
\ntraining in art at the prestigious Liceo Artistico in Bologna and holds a
\ndegree in architecture from the University of Florence. He cites Edward
\nHopper and Caravaggio among his favorite artists. To learn more about

\nIn Gallery 2, Suzanne Auer presents a series of paintings that highlight
\nher love of color. The paintings evoke a sense of nostalgia and a feeling
\nof revisiting favorite places and things. Auer showcases her process of
\nplanning a painting around a specific color and creating a visual path
\nthrough it.
\nAuer received her BFA in Jewelry and Silversmithing from SUNY New Paltz and
\nstarted her own business painting children\u2019s clothes and murals. This led
\nto creating The Art Studio, a business teaching drawing and painting to
\nchildren and adults for over 20 years in Highland Mills, NY. She is now
\nretired and painting every free moment she gets. For more information,
