An evening of music by celebrated composer Ellen Mandel sung by Jessica Crandall.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Each of Mandel\u2019s songs creates its own little world: this one\u2019s a smoldering romance, that one\u2019s all beauty and springtime, the next is dark and dangerous, next a song of flirtatious and witty wordplay, and then one that will break your heart. You\u2019ll hear songs from Ellen\u2019s song cycle inspired by Edward Hopper\u2019s magnificent paintings. You\u2019ll watch the play Waiting for Godot <\/em>contained in one fun and lively jazz number. You\u2019ll receive the prophetess Cassandra\u2019s warning, in Trojan language, from the ancient Greek tragedy Agamemnon<\/em>.\u00a0And to finish, you\u2019ll be treated to Ellen\u2019s hilarious self-help song\u2014a blues, of course\u2014singing along to internalize her therapeutic message. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Crandall has sung with the New York Choral Society at Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall. She is currently at work on an original song cycle with composer and Guggenheim Fellow Carman Moore<\/strong><\/p>\n

The duo has charmed audiences all over New York City and beyond, with their expert musicianship and playful banter. They love performing, and you\u2019ll love being taken on an emotional journey with them. <\/strong><\/p>\n
