Connecting seamlessly with Louis Engel Park, Henry Gourdine Park , which opened in 2018, stretches between the historic Ossining Boat and Canoe Club, 3 Westerly Bar and Grill, and the Harbor Square condominiums, in front of the Ossining Train Station.<\/p>\n
There’s a unique playground kids love, picnic area, the trademark 42-foot steel and concrete arch resembling a giant wishbone by artist Peter Lundberg, the seasonal Bigfoot Creamery, and paved walking paths.\u00a0The curving path along the waterfront provides stunning Hudson River Views.<\/p>\n
The park also provides access to a dock from which NY Waterway offers ferry service during commuter hours between Ossining and Haverstraw.<\/p>\n
Henry Gourdine was a beloved Hudson River fisherman, storyteller and Ossining resident who died in 1997 at the age of 94. He was known for making and repairing his own nets, building boats, working as a carpenter between fishing seasons, and happily sharing his wisdom with others. He kept a fishing shed for decades here along the waterfront,<\/p>\n
