Taconic Opera\u2019s production of Carmen<\/em><\/strong> will be a retelling of a theme familiar in all generations. Innocent young man (Don Jos\u00e9) meets fiery young woman (Carmen).\u00a0 She charms him into leaving an adoring girlfriend, leads him astray into a life of crime, leaves him for someone famous, and refuses his pleas to return to him. His pain and jealousy cloud his judgement and turn his love into anger, leading him to do the unthinkable. Bizet\u2019s music is undeniably exciting, spirited, memorable, and instantly likeable. It includes the famous Habanera<\/em> and the March of the Toreadors<\/em>.<\/p>\n
