SUMMARY:Poetry Workshop with Lily Greenberg at the Nyack Public Library
DESCRIPTION:Local Nyack poet Lily Greenberg will leading a generative poetry workshop.\nEvent description: Imitation of other writers has long been a practice of\npoets. By learning how other poems work\, we can\, in turn\, sharpen our tools\nto use in our own work. In this one-hour workshop\, we will explore two very\ndifferent poems and take time to draft imitations\, as well as share and\ndiscuss our findings.\nAbout the author: Lily Greenberg is a poet from Nashville\, Tennessee and\nthe author of In the Shape of a Woman\, published with Broadstone Books in\n2022. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Iron Horse Literary Review\n\, On the Seawall\, Kissing Dynamite Poetry\, About Place Journal\, and LEON\nLiterary Review\, among others\, and she is the 2023 prize winner of Iron\nHorse Literary Review’s NaPoMo Contest as well as the 2021 recipient of the\nDick Shea Memorial Prize for Poetry. Her work has been funded by Bread Loaf\nWriters\, University of New Hampshire\, and Maine Writers and Publishers\nAlliance. Lily holds an MFA from the University of New Hampshire and lives\nin New York where she serves as Grants Coordinator for Columbia University\nand Poetry Editor for Longleaf Review.
