SUMMARY:Lisa Quin
DESCRIPTION:April 29 – May 30\nLisa Quinn \nArt Reception – Saturday\, May 6 – 1:00-3:00pm \nMy name is Lisa Quinn. I am a self-taught wood artist. In 2018 I was looking for art for my home\, and when I couldn’t find what I was looking for\, I decided to create it myself. After that first piece\, the artful creations just kept coming. \nThe colors I use come from my surroundings\, whether they be from nature or otherwise. Each piece is meant to evoke emotion and inspire imagination. I enjoy working with clients to create custom commissions inspired by their own experiences and decor. Each piece is cut\, sanded and painted by hand.

SUMMARY:Colin Mochrie (of Whose Line is It Anyway?) presents "Hyprov"
DESCRIPTION:From the brilliant minds of Improv and Comedy Legend Colin Mochrie and Master Hypnotist Asad Mecci comes a brand new\, mind-blowing\, jaw-dropping\, side-splitting show! Hypnosis and Improv — two art forms that have mystified and entertained fans\, sceptics and everyone in between for decades worldwide – come together as two masters of their crafts unite for a totally unique comedy experience — HYPROV: Improv Under Hypnosis. \nTwenty random volunteers from the audience will be put under hypnosis (the process of which is a show in its own right)\, their inhibitions evaporated and their minds no longer their own. The four or five best are left on stage when one of the world’s leading improvisers enters! Colin Mochrie (co-creator) will initiate and manipulate those under hypnosis himself and turn the show into an improv extravaganza! \nIn the hands of two masters\, and solely crafted from the audience’s uninhibited subconscious\, this will be an entirely original and completely unforgettable show\, for who knows where the unconscious mind will go. What can possibly go wrong? Come and see for yourself!

SUMMARY:Two New Exhibitions: ANDREA BARUFFI: PLAYFUL and SUZANNE AUER: COLORSCAPES
DESCRIPTION:Roost Restaurant and Union Arts Center are pleased to present two new exhibitions featuring the work of Andrea Baruffi and Suzanne Auer. \nIn Gallery 1\, Andrea Baruffi showcases a collection of prints made from his original acrylic paintings. Baruffi’s artistic style is characterized by whimsy and humor. Many of the original acrylic paintings\, from which the “Playful” series of art prints are made\, range in size from 60″ x 80″ to 80″ x 80″. They are available for purchase directly from the artist’s studio\, located two hours north of Florence. His work is widely exhibited throughout Italy. \nBaruffi\, a former illustrator and longtime resident of Piermont\, returned to Italy after his retirement\, having worked in New York for major advertising agencies and children’s book publishers. He received classical training in art at the prestigious Liceo Artistico in Bologna and holds a degree in architecture from the University of Florence. He cites Edward Hopper and Caravaggio among his favorite artists. To learn more about Baruffi and his work\, visit Instagram page @andrea_baruffi_paintings. For inquiries about sales or further information\, please contact Kathy at (845) 652-0737 (Piermont) or kathleenbaruffi@gmail.com. \nIn Gallery 2\, Suzanne Auer presents a series of paintings that highlight her love of color. The paintings evoke a sense of nostalgia and a feeling of revisiting favorite places and things. Auer showcases her process of planning a painting around a specific color and creating a visual path through it. \nAuer received her BFA in Jewelry and Silversmithing from SUNY New Paltz and started her own business painting children’s clothes and murals. This led to creating The Art \nStudio\, a business teaching drawing and painting to children and adults for over 20 years in Highland Mills\, NY. She is now retired and painting every free moment she \ngets.
