Now we are fathers and husbands and our lives have spun off in different directions\, but we’ve stayed passionate about the sub-culture of skating.’” – Bill Batson\, Nyack News and Views (2018) \n“The footage of The Wizards at exhibitions and competitions is a time capsule of long-lost Rockland:  There they are in front of Bamberger’s in Paramus\, New Jersey; at the Nanuet Theater-Go-Round\, riding up a wooden ramp they had transported to the site on the roof of a car; slaloming down the hill on Nyack’s Remsen Street\, with the Tappan Zee Playhouse as a backdrop. When they formed in 1977\, The Wizards were: Nyack’s Kermit Taylor (who later changed his name to Jamaal Bey)\, Stephon White\, and Umberto Brownlee; South Nyack’s Joe Humeres; Grand View’s Chris Kinzel and Jonathan Bell; Upper Grand View’s Ramsay Lewis; and Sparkill’s Samuels. Bell was 16; White and Samuels 15; Bey and Kinzel were 14; Lewis and Brownlee 12; Humeres 11. DESCRIPTION:Loaded Concerts and WPDH presents John Cafferty and The Beaver Brown Band! \nThe legendary multi-platinum “East Coast Rock’n’Roll” group John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band began their career in 1972 and achieved mainstream success in the 1980s with the “Eddie & The Cruisers – Motion Picture Soundtrack”.  The hit single “On the Dark Side” held the “Number-One” position on the Billboard Rock charts and the MTV video charts for “five” consecutive weeks.  The album sold over 3 million copies and was certified triple Platinum by the RIAA. \nThe title track from the group’s 1985 follow-up album “Tough All Over” became their second “Number-One” single on the Billboard Rock charts and the song “C-I-T-Y” reached the Billboard Top 20.  John Cafferty’s solo track “Hearts on Fire” was featured in the Sylvester Stallone film “Rocky IV” and he received his second double Platinum soundtrack award.  Over the years John has placed 35 songs in major motion pictures. \nToday John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band continue to tour and bring their exciting live shows to fans around the world.  In 2012 they were inducted into the Rhode Island Music Hall Of Fame.

DESCRIPTION:The Untermyer Gardens Conservancy announces its second annual Minnie Untermyer Concert Series. Taking place from May 28 to September 4\, 2022 in the amphitheater in the magnificent Walled Garden and overlooking the length of this monumental Indo-Persian space\, eleven concerts have been scheduled. There will be classical orchestral and vocal music\, as well as three dance performances. Popular offerings will include both jazz and American songbook.
