SUMMARY:CAPTURING LIGHT: HUDSON-ATHENS LIGHTHOUSE EXHIBIT AT THE AMTRAK HUDSON STATION
DESCRIPTION:Now on display…  Capturing Light Photo Exhibit at the Amtrak Hudson Station! We are starting the celebration of the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse’s 150th Anniversary with a beautiful photo exhibit at the Amtrak Hudson Station\, and featuring the history of the Lightkeepers. \nThank you to our very talented photographers.  And a very special thanks to @create.council located in Catskill\, NY for your support and confidence! This is the first photo exhibit that HALPS has ever done\, and we want our community to be proud. \nAnd to the amazing Ms. Jane Sinclair\, who put a lot of heart into this beautiful exhibit!  @janespaintings Thank you! \nHere’s an interesting trivia: Did you know that the Amtrak station in Hudson was built in 1874?!  The same year that the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse was completed!  It was built by New York Central Railroad and is the oldest continuously operated station in the state.

DESCRIPTION:Join us every Saturday! \nWe have grown! And we have moved to the commuter parking lot across from the Hastings-on-Hudson Metro-North station. \nThe Hastings Farmers’ Market supports regional agriculture by bringing farm-fresh produce and goods from the Hudson Valley to our village\, as well as educating and inspiring the market community about the benefits of local farming and sustainable practices. \nThe weekly outdoor market runs from June through November\, 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.\, in the Commuter Lot. A slightly smaller twice-a-month indoor winter market runs from December through May\, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.\, at the James Harmon Community Center on Main Street. \nSaturdays\, 8:30-1pm

SUMMARY:Hudson Chorale Concert: Hensel\, Vivaldi\, Mozart
DESCRIPTION:Hudson Chorale Concert: Hensel\, Vivaldi\, Mozart   \n“What is a human?” Come hear Hudson Chorale give Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel’s answer in a performance of her sublime cantata Hiob\, with text from The Book of Job. This work has been all but silenced for two centuries by the prominence of her famous brother. We delight in contributing to Hensel’s long overdue appreciation as a major artist of the nineteenth century. \nDue to happenstance in choral history\, Vivaldi’s Gloria (RV 588) is not as frequently performed as the ever-popular (RV 589)\, but it is every bit as vibrant and wonderful. \nAnd come to hear the exquisite melodies and exciting fugues of Mozart’s Vesperae solennes de Confessore (“Solemn Vespers”)\, a work whose intricate and profound beauties have been recognized and beloved since its creation in 1780. \nHudson Chorale\, under the baton of Artistic Director David Baranowski\, will perform with orchestra and soloists Francesca Federico\, soprano; Allison Gish\, contralto; Joseph Klebanoff\, tenor; Richard Lippold\, bass. \nThe concerts will be on Saturday\, June 8 and Sunday\, June 9 at 3pm at Irvington Presbyterian Church\, 25 North Broadway\, Irvington\, NY 10533 \nTickets can be purchased for $30 each from members of the Hudson Chorale\, or through https://bit.ly/juneconcert \nFor further information\, please visit www.HudsonChorale.org or email us at info@hudsonchorale.org \nHudson Chorale is grateful to the New York State Council on the Arts\, the Westchester Community Foundation\, and Arts Westchester which awarded us funds to support our work and community outreach this year.
