SUMMARY:The Irish Comedy Tour
DESCRIPTION:THE IRISH COMEDY TOUR Returns this February! \nThe Irish Comedy Tour takes the party atmosphere of a Dublin pub and combines it with a boisterous\, belly-laugh band of hooligans. \nThe group’s comedians and musicians\, whose ancestors hail from the Emerald Isle\, include Detroit native Derek Richards; Washington D.C. born Patrick Garrity; Ohio’s Michael Malone; Nova Scotia’s Damon Leibert; and from Inchicore\, a suburb of Dublin\, Ireland Derrick Keane. \nAudiences howl at Richards’ tales about his child free existence\, living in Las Vegas and his blue collar upbringing . He has appeared on Amazon Prime\, The Bob & Tom Show\, SiriusXM\, and The Weather Channel’s Top 10. He just released his fourth album\, Double Down\, available on iTunes\, Spotify and Soundcloud. Leibert’s unique and energetic style of fiddle playing lies somewhere between the driving dance beat of Cape Breton\, and the lyrical music of Ireland. His power packed performance adds an incredible dimension to the show. Keane\, originally from Inchicore\, Derrick first distinguished himself musically when the duo in which he sang and played swept the All Ireland Talent Competition. His band\, Inchicore\, sets the gold standard for the Irish music scene in New England and across North America. A brilliant voice and razor sharp wit make him a huge hit on the tour. Garrity is known for his constant road schedule appropriately dubbed\, The Never Ending Tour. This 20 year comedy veteran brings his hilarious observations and impressions to the stage. He’s a favorite from coast to coast and across the border in Canada. And finally\, Malone\, with his blistering humor that focuses on breaking down the idiotic ways we deal with life\, death\, love\, and grief. An absolute hammer of a comedian seen on Fox\, Comedy Central\, Showtime and HULU. Watch his special\, Laugh After Death. \nDon’t miss these hilarious Irish American comedians as they tear apart as well as validate all of the Irish myths and stereotypes.

SUMMARY:Louie Prima Jr. and The Witnesses
DESCRIPTION:“Like his father\, Prima\, Jr. is a talented entertainer whose jocular vocals led much of the action… it catapulted the sound into the present and these stunning Witnesses enjoyed numerous featured spots as vocalists and instrumentalists. Tireless doesn’t begin to describe each perspiration-filled moment.”- New York City Jazz Record \nLouis Prima Jr. and The Witnesses are a boisterous\, horn-driven\, 10-piece New Orleans-style band known for their energetic performances that raise the roof and bring audiences to their feet. Their eclectic and rowdy style crosses several genres\, from big band and swing to rock and blues\, combining original music from their two albums with tail-shakin’ and foot stompin’ favorites from the five-decade career of Louis Prima Sr. With the band’s collective talents and diverse musical tastes\, their shows have a sound that is unique while staying true to the vintage Prima style. \nPrima Jr. is the son of legendary entertainer Louis Prima\, known for his New Orleans-flavored music and lively performances. Prima had a career that spanned five decades and included record-breaking contracts to perform in Las Vegas where legends such as Frank Sinatra\, Elvis Presley and Louis Armstrong would regularly jump on stage with the entertainer and his band. His popularity was so great at one point that he was asked to perform at the inauguration of John F. Kennedy. His classic “Sing\, Sing\, Sing” was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame\, he won the first ever Music Group Grammy for “That Old Black Magic” and his classic “Jump\, Jive ‘an Wail” went on to start a swing revolution in the 90s.

SUMMARY:Llama Llama Red Pajama Live!
DESCRIPTION:Llama Llama Red Pajama Live!\, a new musical by Bay Area Children’s Theatre inspired by the bestselling Llama\, Llama Red Pajama series of picture books by the late Anna Dewdney.\nFamilies can join in the fun when Llama bursts into his bedroom looking frantically for his favorite red pajamas. Mama\, hearing the commotion\, comes upstairs with Llama’s pajamas in the laundry basket to ask about his day—his very first day at school—and put him to bed. But when she goes downstairs to do the million things that busy mothers have to do at the end of the day\, Llama is too wiggly to fall asleep\, and besides\, he’s thirsty. He howls for Mama to come back up\, but she doesn’t arrive. Will she ever return?\n“What’s amazing about the Llama Llama books\,” said Director\, “is that they are telling a story about a normal child who is going through scary moments about growing up and has to learn how to take care of himself in the simplest ways to feel safe\, comfortable and become a little bit more independent. What we’re doing with this musical is to bring to life some of those situations\, as Llama learns that\, if he’s a bit anxious\, he can calm down and not have a total mental breakdown at this very moment. Llama is already living in an imaginary world\, but sometimes that scary shadow is just an old towel and a baseball bat left on the floor. We’re just helping him deal with the choices he has made.”\nAward-winning playwright-composer-lyricist Austin Zumbro (“Goodnight\, Goodnight\, Construction Site the Musical”) has written a panoply of clever tunes in a variety of styles to create a fun-filled\, contemporary musical that expresses the imagination of childhood for both children and adults to enjoy\, including a song about the history of sleepwear through the ages.\nFamilies are invited come to this original\, world-premiere musical ready to do the Bedtime Dance! Recommended for ages 3 and up.

SUMMARY:TACONIC OPERA: Handel’s Messiah\, Coton-on-Hudson\, Dec. 10 & 11
DESCRIPTION:As part of its 25th Anniversary celebration\, Taconic Opera invites you to its very first December holiday concert\, performing the oratorio that has survived almost 3 centuries since first presented in Dublin in 1742: George Frideric Handel’s magnificent Messiah. No need to go to Carnegie Hall when you can hear it practically in your own back yard. \n  \nHear the Messiah in a whole new way – not as sung by soloists and chorus\, but as sung by opera soloists and an opera chorus…and with full professional orchestra. \n  \nFun Facts: \n\nIn his piece\, Handel combines three concepts: the nativity and its prophecy\, the crucifixion and redemption of mankind\, and a commentary on the Christian soul and it’s victory over death. The chorus is at the center of all three parts of the piece\, accompanied by four vocal soloists and an orchestra.\nMessiah was originally intended for Lent\, not Christmas. Due to its neglect\, the Victorians moved the oratorio to Christmas to revive interest.\nHandel wrote the work in just 18 days\, and three weeks later he wrote his oratorio Samson.\nThe King James version of the Old Testament provides the text for nearly all of this work.\n\n  \nTwo weekend matinee concerts in central Westchester: \nSat.\, Dec. 10\, and Sun.\, Dec. 11 \, 3 pm \nHoly Name of Mary Church \n110 Grand St.\, Croton-on-Hudson. \nThis beautiful venue is handicap accessible and ideally suited for live sacred music of this caliber due to its acoustical and architectural properties. \n  \nTickets: \nToll-free (855) 886-7372 or \nhttps://taconicopera.org/TIckets/ \n  \nTicket Prices:   \nAdvance Sale: $25\, Seniors $20\, Students $12 \nDoor Sale: $30\, Seniors $25\, Student -$15 \nGroups of 5 or more: deduct $5 per ticket \nDiscounts can be taken together
