Jimy Bleu truly brings the Hendrix spirit to the stage. And that is no small task. They have my full endorsement.” Katie Daryl\, Host and producer of AXS-TV show The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands- “Kiss The Sky is spectacular! So often with tribute bands people say close your eyes\, they sound just like them\, but with Kiss The Sky you MUST keep your eyes open because the guitar playing\, vintage gear\, costumes and stage presence of the band is so very precise and out of this world your jaw will drop!” Kiss The Sky: World’s Greatest Tribute to Jimi Hendrix returns to Peekskill\, NY\, after a stellar performance at The Paramount Hudson Valley in February of 2020! \nCelebrate Black History Month at The Paramount! The show recreates the most iconic concerts of Jimi Hendrix’s career including a 50th anniversary nod to his Band of Gypsys. KISS THE SKY is the #1 Jimi Hendrix Tribute Show in the world garnering rave reviews and playing to sold out festivals and venues across the USA\, Kiss The Sky’s show features replica wardrobe\, gear\, set lists and a Joshua Light show originally used at the famed Fillmore East. Playing the part of Jimi Hendrix is left handed guitar virtuoso and long running Hendrix tribute artist Jimy Bleu. Bleu executes all of Hendrix’s legendary stage moves and guitar licks so expertly that he has toured with Billy Cox\, bass player with Hendrix’s own Band of Gypsys. Kiss The Sky has also had the honor of having Cox and other remaining members of Hendrix’s bands join them on stage.

SUMMARY:Studio Theater in Exile presents The Rebirth Project
DESCRIPTION:What happens when you being together visual artists\, composers\, and a dancer?  Answer: The Rebirth Project \nBibianna Matheis\, photographer\, Barbara Korman\, sculptor\, Poet Gold\, poet and performer\, Mara Mills\, director\, Jeremy Gratt\, composer\, and Miranda Runyon\, dancer\, and choreographer\, came together to as Barbara Korman put it  – because “Down deep\, at the molecular heart of life we’re essentially identical to trees.” (Carl Sandberg). That relationship between human and tree was the seed that brought The Rebirth Project to life. Add Susan Obrant’s costuming and the work is complete. \nHumans and trees have an intimate connection. We climb their branches when we are young and sit in their shade when we are old. We make love underneath them and hide behind their trunks when we are sad. We fall asleep to the lullaby of their leaves. \nAll art genres have been inspired by nature and\, especially trees. At our best we recognize the kinship. If we listen\, we’ll understand the language of trees as we did as children climbing into the boughs. The Rebirth Project brings that intimacy back. \nCome celebrate the season and the tress at STUDIO THEATER IN EXILE is now housed at Hudson Valley MOCA. \nDATES: June 10\, 11\, 25\, 7:00PM and June 16\, 2:00PM \nPLACE:  Studio Theater in Exile @ Hudson Valley MOCA\, 1701 Main Street\, Peekskill NY 10566 \nTICKETS: $ 20 available May 15th \non www.studiotheaterinexile.com and www.HVMOCA.org \n  \nThe Rebirth Project: \nMaddie Runyon (NYC) \nPoet Gold (Poughkeepsie) \nBibbiana Matheis (Pawling) \nBarbara Korman (Bronx) \nJeremy Gratt (Thornwood) \nMara Mills (Thornwood) \nSusan Obrant (Peekskill)

NRBQ have attracted accolades and respect from talent as diverse as Jimi Hendrix\, Doc Pomus\, Bob Dylan\, Paul McCartney\, Elvis Costello\, Keith Richards\, The Replacements\, John Sebastian\, Dave Edmunds\, Yo La Tengo and Penn & Teller. \nNRBQ songs have been performed by Bonnie Raitt\, She & Him\, Dan Baird\, the Fabulous Thunderbirds. Widespread Panic\, Los Lobos\, and Dave Edmunds among many others. The group served as the unofficial “house band” for The Simpsons for Seasons 10-12. They appeared as zombies in George Romero’s movie Day of the Dead. They have appeared at the Berlin Jazz Festival\, the Grand Ole Opry\, and Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival. NRBQ has released a series of critically acclaimed albums in the past decade\, among them Keep This Love Goin’ (2011)\, Brass Tacks (2014)\, the 5-disc\, 50-year retrospective\, High Noon (2016)\, and Turn On\, Tune In (2019). Their latest – a first-ever NRBQ rarities collection\, “In*Frequencies” released by Omnivore Recordings on October 2\, 2020. The career-spanning sixteen tracks\, twelve never-before released\, include live and radio performances\, soundchecks\, and rare singles. \nNRBQ are that rare group that’s eclectic\, stylistically innovative\, and creatively ambitious while also sounding thoroughly unpretentious and accessible. At its best\, NRBQ‘s music casually mixes up barrelhouse R&B\, British Invasion pop\, fourth-gear rockabilly\, exploratory free jazz\, and dozens of other flavors while giving it all a stomp-down rhythm that makes fans want to dance and expressing a sense of joy and easy good humor that comes straight from the heart.
