No need to go to Carnegie Hall when you can hear it practically in your own back yard. \n  \nHear the Messiah in a whole new way – not as sung by soloists and chorus\, but as sung by opera soloists and an opera chorus…and with full professional orchestra. \n  \nFun Facts: \n\nIn his piece\, Handel combines three concepts: the nativity and its prophecy\, the crucifixion and redemption of mankind\, and a commentary on the Christian soul and it’s victory over death. The chorus is at the center of all three parts of the piece\, accompanied by four vocal soloists and an orchestra.\nMessiah was originally intended for Lent\, not Christmas. The concerts will take place at 3 PM on both days.\nHudson Chorale\, under the baton of Artistic Director David Baranowski\, will perform with soloists including acclaimed tenor Nils Neubert\, who will sing the lead role of Nicolas in the Britten.\nWe usher in the season of light and rebirth with these performances\, featuring an ensemble including harp\, tympani\, violins\, organ and piano. Our Saturday concert will additionally be recorded for streaming on YouTube\, fulfilling Hudson Chorale’s promise to maintain community access in the time of COVID.\n“We are delighted to bring this program to the community before the holidays\,” said Artistic Director Baranowski. “Through nearly two years of pandemic\, we have nurtured our music through remote and\, recently\, live rehearsal. The beautiful wood acoustics will ring with the music of Bach\, including highlights from his famous Cello Suites\, among other composers. Her playing has been called “Sheer pleasure” by the New York Times. She is a founding member of the Eroica Trio.

Their eclectic and rowdy style crosses several genres\, from big band and swing to rock and blues\, combining original music from their two albums with tail-shakin’ and foot stompin’ favorites from the five-decade career of Louis Prima Sr. With the band’s collective talents and diverse musical tastes\, their shows have a sound that is unique while staying true to the vintage Prima style. \nPrima Jr. is the son of legendary entertainer Louis Prima\, known for his New Orleans-flavored music and lively performances. Prima had a career that spanned five decades and included record-breaking contracts to perform in Las Vegas where legends such as Frank Sinatra\, Elvis Presley and Louis Armstrong would regularly jump on stage with the entertainer and his band. His popularity was so great at one point that he was asked to perform at the inauguration of John F. Kennedy. His classic “Sing\, Sing\, Sing” was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame\, he won the first ever Music Group Grammy for “That Old Black Magic” and his classic “Jump\, Jive ‘an Wail” went on to start a swing revolution in the 90s.
