Valentine\, September’s Jazz Lounge supper club will showcase Albert Ahlf & The Alphabet Swing Band.\nThe Ahlfabet Swing Band\, a popular swing jazz group in the New York metropolitan area\, is pleased to announce their new season of live shows. They specializes in 30s and 40s style jazz\, with a focus on the swing music of Louis Armstrong\, Benny Goodman\, Sidney Bechet\, Jimmie Lunceford\, Coleman Hawkins\, and Count Basie. The band also plays songs from the Great American Songbook that have been covered by crooners such as Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.\nWe are thrilled to announce that before our 6pm Swing concert\, Igor of NY DanceSport in New City will be teaching a FREE 45-minute SWING DANCE LESSON* starting at 5pm (no partner required).\nYou can also catch him dancing up a storm at the 8pm show!\nIgor is a former competitive champion dancer\, an award-winning performer and choreographer with over twenty years of teaching experience.\n*Please note this class is only open to ticket holders for the 6pm Alfabet Swing Band show.\nThe band is led by Albert Ahlf\, who writes most of the arrangements. Ahlf is known for his “condensed big band sound\,” which utilizes two to three horns with a rhythm section.\nThe Ahlfabet Swing Band has played at numerous venues throughout the region\, including Maureen’s Jazz Cellar\, Casa del Sol in Nyack\, Bean Runner Cafe in Peekskill\, The View in Piermont\, the Rockland Conservatory of Music in Pearl River\, and the Edward Hopper House for their annual fundraiser and summer jazz series. The band was also featured in Hot House Magazine in 2022.\nThe Ahlfabet Swing Band is a great way to experience the golden age of jazz. The band’s high-energy performances are sure to get you moving\, and their love of the music is contagious. Be sure to catch them live this season!\nWe have two dinner seatings upstairs with the concert:\nDoors open at 5pm first come first served\n6pm (arrive by 5:30) and 8pm (arrive by 7:30)\nPlease arrive promptly. Seating is first come first served. Roost will be offering a delicious seasonal menu with the concert ($25 minimum per person at tables)\nWe recommend purchasing tickets at least 48 hours in advance.\nFor those who do not wish to dine\, a limited number of tickets will be sold at the door payable by cash or Venmo only. A table is not guaranteed with these tickets.\nEntrance to the concert is through the door on the LEFT\nNOTE: Concerts take place on the second floor.
