DESCRIPTION:Working with our partners at the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse Preservation Society we are pleased to offer lighthouse tours. \nOur lighthouse tours are an opportunity to learn about the important role that the Hudson River played in the development of the upper Hudson River towns and the role that the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse plays in the safe navigation of river transportation. \nMore Information :  \n– For safety reasons\, we ask that visitors wear sturdy shoes (not flip flops or high heels) \n– Picnic tables are available if you wish to bring a lunch. There are public restrooms in Henry Hudson Riverfront Park. A composting toilet is available at the lighthouse. \n– Souvenirs are available. (Cash\, check preferred.) ATM at nearby Amtrak station in Hudson. Join local historians and authors Diane Lapis and Anne Peck-Davis as they share fascinating historical vignettes and vintage postcard of lounges\, hotel bars and other exotic drinking venues from the 1930s\, 40s and 50s. Sample two classic cocktails and enjoy a light assortment of finger foods and charcuterie at the historic Mesier Homestead. Non-alcoholic beverage will be available for those who do not imbibe\, but who still enjoy the distinct glamour of the cocktail scene of that era. All attendees will receive 10% off their purchase at the Mesier Homestead gift shop that evening. \nAdults 21 and over\, please.
