SUMMARY:A Doll’s House\, Part 2 at Elmwood Playhouse
DESCRIPTION:A Doll’s House\, Part 2 is set fifteen years after the end of Ibsen’s original play\, when Nora walked out of her house and her marriage. While her husband Torvald continued to work and raise their family\, Nora followed her own path. Now Nora has returned home to face what she left behind. Can she still justify her actions to leave and fulfill her dreams? After all that has happened\, will Torvald be willing to give her what she wants? A surprising and contemporary look at the lives we choose\, and the ones we leave behind. \nPresented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service\, Inc. \nPerformances now through August 6 \nVisit our website for tickets and more information.

SUMMARY:Peekskill Film Festival
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Annual Peekskill Film Festival which will be on Friday\, June 24th at 7PM and Saturday\, June 25th at 11AM. Supported by The Field Library and the Paramount Hudson Valley Theater. \nThe Peekskill Film Festival was founded in 2015 to promote film literacy in the vibrant and historic Hudson River city of Peekskill\, NY\, and is an important opportunity to view new works by emerging filmmakers\, including features\, shorts\, documentaries\, animation\, and student work. Through informative workshops\, and networking opportunities\, The Peekskill Film Festival will also facilitate educational and career-oriented programming for students of film and filmmakers. The festival hopes to introduce\, involve and immerse youth from underserved communities of color to a world where they\, too\, can contribute and create. We invite everyone to come out and support our homegrown talent and\, especially\, our youth in learning valuable tools in the art of filmmaking. We also want people to take in our beautiful city with its vibrant community–including a thriving art\, food and nightlife scene. Peekskill also boasts top-notch cultural institutions such as the landmark Paramount Theater\,The Field Library\, Peekskill Museum and the Lincoln Depot. Our city is bordered by the tranquil Hudson River on the west and surrounded by miles of parks and lakes. We welcome the world to come to Peekskill to see all that we have going on!
