(Sept. 12\, 2022) Step back in time. It’s the 1800’s\, hear the clamoring metal horseshoes click across cobblestone roads in this dark Sleepy Hollow tale. The LEGEND is a simmering adaptation of Washington Irving’s iconic ghost story\, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” Audiences will be treated to a cirque/theatre noir production with narration by Washington Irving himself – in hologram form\, commemorating the 200-year anniversary of\, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” \nThe LEGEND is a new\, total immersive experience with the groundbreaking use of holograms combined with live action circus performers to tell the story. Two years ago\, Westchester Circus Arts began exploring the concept of holograms as part of the cirque performance with Montreal-based Neweb Labs to find out if the idea was possible.  \n“We invite people to come see the show as we make history Sept. 23. This is the first time that an American Circus will use a hologram to portray an ‘animal act’ in a circus tent. Come out\, buy tickets\, grab some popcorn and tell us if our concept has come alive\,” says Carlo Pellegrini of Westchester Circus Arts\, creator\, producer and writer of The LEGEND. \nTickets may be purchased in advance at www.SleepyHollowLegend.com. The show will run from Sept. 23 – Oct. 16\, 2022 in The LEGEND Circus Tent on the East Parcel at 60 Continental Street in Sleepy Hollow\, NY. It commemorates a turning point in the Revolutionary War when on August 19\, 1781\, the Continental Army under George Washington departed their encampment in our area to march 400 miles to attack the British army at Yorktown\, Virginia. The program continues at 2:00pm at the Mead House\, 12 Elm Street\, Dobbs Ferry. The Road to Freedom Walk is a program of the Dobbs Ferry Historical Society. When they formed in 1977\, The Wizards were: Nyack’s Kermit Taylor (who later changed his name to Jamaal Bey)\, Stephon White\, and Umberto Brownlee; South Nyack’s Joe Humeres; Grand View’s Chris Kinzel and Jonathan Bell; Upper Grand View’s Ramsay Lewis; and Sparkill’s Samuels. Bell was 16; White and Samuels 15; Bey and Kinzel were 14; Lewis and Brownlee 12; Humeres 11. Before long\, the towheaded Michael Offen\, of Upper Nyack\, whom Samuels used to babysit\, was allowed to join. He was\, Samuels says\, ‘the best 7-year-old skater on the East Coast.’” – Peter D. DESCRIPTION:Hollis Brown’s latest album\, In The Aftermath (Mascot Label Group/Cool Green Recordings)\, is the deliciously depraved outcome of an all-night rock n’ roll riot. The Queens\, New York-based quintet escaped to the Poconos to record with a few handles of whiskey\, and\, in one 24-hour session\, ran down the Stone’s seminal first album of all originals\, 1966’s Aftermath. Tracked live in the studio with minimal overdubs\, In The Aftermath is potent proof the five-piece group is one of the last great American rock n’ roll bands. \n“IIn The Aftermath is the second in a casual homage series. Previously\, Hollis Brown issued\, Gets Loaded\, saluting Velvet Underground’s Loaded. This new album directly follows the band’s most successful release yet\, 2019’s Ozone Park\, which earned rave reviews from Rolling Stone\, Billboard\, Paste Magazine\, Pop Matters\, Relix\, and Goldmine. \nHollis Brown formed in 2009\, in Queens\, New York\, and came together around best buds\, singer-guitarist Mike Montali and lead guitarist Jonathan Bonilla. The guys pinched the band name from the Bob Dylan song\, “Ballad of Hollis Brown\,” and its moniker neatly epitomizes the group’s commitment to melding a signature Americana blend with fine songcraft. These days the band is rounded out by Andrew Zehnal (drums) and Chris Urriola (bass). To date\, Hollis Brown has released an EP\, three original albums\, and the aforementioned Record Store Day tribute to the Velvet Underground’s Loaded album. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBruce T. Carroll\nWith the release of First Bird To Sing\,  Bruce T Carroll has continued to carve out a niche for himself as an Americana artist with a social conscience and a deft lyrical touch. \nHe spent fourteen years (1999-2013) operating the legendary Larchmont\, NY music venue The Watercolor Café\, where he presented regional and national acts of as well as new and undiscovered acts that soon broke upon the national scene.
