DESCRIPTION:Working with our partners at the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse Preservation Society we are pleased to offer lighthouse tours. \nOur lighthouse tours are an opportunity to learn about the important role that the Hudson River played in the development of the upper Hudson River towns and the role that the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse plays in the safe navigation of river transportation. \nMore Information :  \n– For safety reasons\, we ask that visitors wear sturdy shoes (not flip flops or high heels) \n– Picnic tables are available if you wish to bring a lunch. There are public restrooms in Henry Hudson Riverfront Park. A composting toilet is available at the lighthouse. \n– Souvenirs are available. (Cash\, check preferred.) ATM at nearby Amtrak station in Hudson. This is the first photo exhibit that HALPS has ever done\, and we want our community to be proud. \nAnd to the amazing Ms. Jane Sinclair\, who put a lot of heart into this beautiful exhibit!  @janespaintings Thank you! \nHere’s an interesting trivia: Did you know that the Amtrak station in Hudson was built in 1874?!  The same year that the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse was completed!  It was built by New York Central Railroad and is the oldest continuously operated station in the state.

DESCRIPTION:Croton Point Park Naturalist John Phillips and Village of Croton Historian Marc Cheshire will lead a hike on Sunday\, July 20\, at 9 a.m. to explore Croton Point’s history\, natural history\, archaeology and geology. The hike will last roughly 1.5 to 2 hours. This event is free. Meet at the gate to the RV park\, where parking is available. Ages 6 and up; wear sturdy shoes. \nThe same hike will take place at 9 a.m. on Sunday\, September 21.
