Scent work is a sport that helps nurture and develop scent skills in dogs. Breeders can ‘prove’ their line’s ability to do scent work by earning titles. It is a seriously popular and exciting sport for everyone who trains and competes with their dog. It is also super fun to watch! So join us and the event’s sponsor\, Albany Obedience Club\, as we host American Kennel Club Scent Trials at the Museum. \nThe scent work sport will take place inside and outside of the Museum building\, with as many as 80-90 teams competing during the event! Also during this event\, there will be a canine-inspired Scavenger Hunt in the Museum for kids. Free admission will be offered during the first day of the event (May 7th\, Saturday) from 10:00am – 12:00pm. Join PHM for a socially distant history hike of Arnold’s escape path through present day Garrison\, NY. Along the way we’ll discuss why the General was driven to betray the Revolution and how prominent local landowner Beverly Robinson aided Arnold’s mission. \nThis history hike includes scenic views of the Hudson River and West Point and will last approximately one hour. The trail is one mile in length but includes uneven rocky terrain and several steep hills. Appropriate footwear and active/outdoor attire strongly suggested. Masks will be required at all times. Adam will perform a set for kids big and small. \nFriday\, August 12th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM \nSugar Pond is an actual pond adjacent to Hillside Elementary School. \n  \nAlthough admission to the park is free\, your donations are graciously accepted. We ask that you donate $20 per family. Performers will receive 90% of the donations and the rest will cover production costs. Any remaining funds will be given to the Conservation Commission to support restoration efforts in Hastings-on-Hudson. \n  \nAnnie Sumi is an ethereal-folk artist from Canada. Her music is intimate and expansive\, inviting the listener into a familiar otherworld. Inspired by the mirrored relationship between physical and emotional landscapes\, Annie’s music speaks of the human experience through the language of the senses. She has been nominated as ‘Emerging Artist’\, ‘Female Vocalist\,’ and ‘Songwriter of the Year\,’ and her music is played on national (US and Canada) and international radio. It’s not just the beauty of her voice and her music\, not just the charm of her onstage presence that makes her something special.
