SUMMARY:Historic Homes of Hudson Highlands Tour
DESCRIPTION:Step inside several historic homes and see and learn about many more as we tour the Hudson Highlands! Found within the riverfront community of Philipstown are numerous historic estates\, farmsteads\, the hamlet of Garrison\, and the well‐preserved historic waterfront of the Village of Cold Spring. Towards the latter part of the nineteenth century artists\, writers and prominent families came to Cold Spring\, and mansions were built along Morris Avenue. The mid-19th century buildings of Garrison’s Landing have been so well preserved that it was used for 1890s scenes in Hello\, Dolly!. Homes from the colonial\, Victorian\, and other eras make this area of the Hudson Highlands an exciting place to explore. This tour will highlight a variety of historic architectural styles and share their stories along the way! \nJoin us for this unique experience to see historic homes\, inside and out\, and immerse yourself in culture and history. Offered one time only! Space is limited. \nThis is a guided tour. Participants will travel the tour itinerary in their own vehicle. Details about the historic buildings at each location will be provided by your guide\, including the historic homes that will be featured as interior tours.
