DESCRIPTION:Rockland BOCES Celebrity Chef Pop Up Restaurant Night\nA Culinary fundraising experience featuring a trifecta of chefs working together with the Rockland BOCES High School Culinary Team.\nRockland BOCES Career and Technical Education Center Culinary Program is proud to partner with the following three chefs who have been contestants on Fox Television’s Hell’s Kitchen. They are excited to work alongside our high school Culinary students. This event will fund awards\, scholarships\, and the cost of competitions for our Culinary students and SkillsUSA members.\nEach Chef will showcase her culinary talent and style through a 5-course menu\, offering guests the opportunity to sample at least one course from each chef.\nGuest Chefs and their menu creations\nNikki Hanna\, Tara Ciannella\, and Alyssa Osinga\nThis menu is designed so each featured chef can showcase their unique style through 5 courses. They worked with our students to replicate these dishes allowing them as well our guests\, to enjoy an incredible culinary learning experience.\n$75 PP (There will be No Alcohol served or allowed on premises for consumption). DESCRIPTION:Class 1: During this introduction to the cosmos\, we will be diving into what a natal chart is\, what a “Big Three” is\, characteristics of the 12 Zodiac Signs\, and 10 of the Planets/Luminaries that make up your chart! We will use examples from my chart to better understand how these placements may show up for someone. \nClass 2: On this journey into the stars\, we will look further into the natal chart\, discussing the 4 angles that split up the chart\, along with the descriptions of the first 6 houses! \nClass 3: We will blast off again into the last 6 houses of the natal chart\, completing all 12 houses of the zodiacal wheel. These last 6 houses get very deep\, so we will spend a lot of time discussing what they all mean\, and how they affect us. \nClass 4: Lastly\, we will dive into the North Node and South Node\, Chiron\, and astrology words and phrases that may help you understand the Astrological jargon better! To be specific\, they were Rockland kids. When they met in 1977\, they had nothing in common except a passion for skateboarding. Despite their vastly different ages\, races and economic backgrounds and with their parents hands-off approach\, they formed a competitive\, traveling team of spirited outsiders called the “Wizards”. Now\, nearly 40 years later\, they remain lifelong friends but their lives have followed very different paths\, from boardrooms to jail cells. Virgin Blacktop: A New York Skate Odyssey is an uplifting character-driven story about boys skating across boundaries to become men. \nNyack Village Trustee Donna Lightfoot Cooper will welcome the audience and introduce filmmaker Charlie Samuels  and other Wizards who are present before the film. \nPlaying for free in Memorial Park\, next to the river and under the stars\, starting at 8:00 PM on Friday\, August 19. When they formed in 1977\, The Wizards were: Nyack’s Kermit Taylor (who later changed his name to Jamaal Bey)\, Stephon White\, and Umberto Brownlee; South Nyack’s Joe Humeres; Grand View’s Chris Kinzel and Jonathan Bell; Upper Grand View’s Ramsay Lewis; and Sparkill’s Samuels. Bell was 16; White and Samuels 15; Bey and Kinzel were 14; Lewis and Brownlee 12; Humeres 11. Before long\, the towheaded Michael Offen\, of Upper Nyack\, whom Samuels used to babysit\, was allowed to join. He was\, Samuels says\, ‘the best 7-year-old skater on the East Coast.’” – Peter D.
