DESCRIPTION:Rockland BOCES Celebrity Chef Pop Up Restaurant Night\nA Culinary fundraising experience featuring a trifecta of chefs working together with the Rockland BOCES High School Culinary Team.\nRockland BOCES Career and Technical Education Center Culinary Program is proud to partner with the following three chefs who have been contestants on Fox Television’s Hell’s Kitchen. They are excited to work alongside our high school Culinary students. This event will fund awards\, scholarships\, and the cost of competitions for our Culinary students and SkillsUSA members.\nEach Chef will showcase her culinary talent and style through a 5-course menu\, offering guests the opportunity to sample at least one course from each chef.\nGuest Chefs and their menu creations\nNikki Hanna\, Tara Ciannella\, and Alyssa Osinga\nThis menu is designed so each featured chef can showcase their unique style through 5 courses. They worked with our students to replicate these dishes allowing them as well our guests\, to enjoy an incredible culinary learning experience.\n$75 PP (There will be No Alcohol served or allowed on premises for consumption). Scent work is a sport that helps nurture and develop scent skills in dogs. Breeders can ‘prove’ their line’s ability to do scent work by earning titles. It is a seriously popular and exciting sport for everyone who trains and competes with their dog. It is also super fun to watch! So join us and the event’s sponsor\, Albany Obedience Club\, as we host American Kennel Club Scent Trials at the Museum. \nThe scent work sport will take place inside and outside of the Museum building\, with as many as 80-90 teams competing during the event! Also during this event\, there will be a canine-inspired Scavenger Hunt in the Museum for kids. Free admission will be offered during the first day of the event (May 7th\, Saturday) from 10:00am – 12:00pm. Museum general admission resumes on day two of the event (May 8th\, Sunday). \nPLEASE NOTE: ONLY CANINES REGISTERED FOR THIS EVENT WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE GROUNDS. \nFree admission to the Museum and the scavenger hunt activity were made possible by a generous grant award from the Museum’s Super Saturdays sponsor: Hudson River Bank and Trust Co. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Mother’s Day with a performance by Ballet Folklorico Mexicano de Nueva York (BFMNY) in the HRM Amphitheater! “Frida Kahlo’s Oaxaca” features dances from the region of the artist’s maternal ancestry\, in addition to traditional social dances of the people of Mexico City\, the home of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. The dancers will invite audience members onstage for a workshop to learn and perform a simple dance. \nBFMNY\, known throughout diverse New York communities for its vibrant\, joyful annual Guelaguetza Festival\, is committed to sharing Mexican traditions and cultural heritage by showcasing regional dances that have shaped Mexico’s culture. This performance complements the selection of dance costumes on view in Frida Kahlo in Context\, on loan from BFMNY\, that represent regions of Oaxaca\, including Tehuantepec\, popularized in particular by Frida Kahlo in her celebration of indigenous Mexico. \nEspañol ↗ \nSupport provided by Art Bridges.
