Tim Mulligan's Picks for the Holidays in the Hudson Valley

By Tim Mulligan

The holiday season is especially wonderful in the Valley because every community up and down the river celebrates, and some of the most beautiful houses have special events that bring them to celebratory life.

Here's a sampling of what the Valley has to offer for the month of December. Some of the listings will require reservations in advance, so if you plan to visit any of the ones below, give them a call first. I also have listed all the phone numbers for the county offices of tourism if you wish to receive more information.

Thru December Old Chatham, N.Y.: The Wiseman Art House. Affordable modern art with selections made with seasonal present-giving in mind. By appointment, any day, any time 877-794-6131
