Defending the Hudson Exhibit at Bear Mountain
The historical exhibit, "Defending the Hudson: 1775-1783" is now on view at the Bear Mountain Inn. The text of the exhibit was prepared by Hudson Valley historian Lincoln Diamant and designed by George Gardner of Whitefish Montana.

The exhibit was curated by Allison Lynch of the Rockefeller State Park Preserve and technicians of the State's Parks Department.

It deals with the efforts of the revolutionary forces to keep the British navy from sailing up the Hudson River and cutting the United States in half.

"Defending the Hudson" included replicas of underwater "Chevaux de Frise," and links of the Great West Point Chain, known contemporaneously as "General Washington's Watch Chain."

Admission is free, the exhibit is open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
