Half Moon Ship Spends Summer in Connecticut
The New Netherlands Museum's replica of Henry Hudson's ship, the "Half Moon," spent much of the summer at the "Before New England" show at the Connecticut River Museum. According to a newsletter, it attracted about 4,000 people to the museum in July.

September plans for the tall ship include a trip to Norwalk, Conn., for an Oyster Festival and then hosting several friends of the "Halve Maen" who will visit from the Netherlands to spend a week onboard.

Tentative plans at press time include a visit to Yonkers to coincide with the city's festival and then a trip to a ship yard for repairs.

There are plans to return the "Half Moon" to the Hudson during October, but definite locations have not yet been established.

Volunteer crews for the "Half Moon" are encouraged - call Mark Bodian at 203-853-7288 - and volunteer docents are always welcome - call Laurie Franklin, (914) 962-5057.
