The Spring Festival known as "Pinkster," celebrated in the Hudson River Valley as
early as the 17th century, presents a rousing Colonial style celebration of Spring with a
compelling program for families.
On Sunday, May 16, the only authentic recreation of this
18th-century African-Dutch celebration of Spring will be held at Philipsburg Manor, a
property of Historic Hudson Valley.
There will be a grand parade with the Pinkster King, storytelling, hands-on
activities, crafts and demonstrations, colonial and ethnic foods, drumming, audience
participation, African dance forms, and an invitation to participate in 18th-century dancing.

Philipsburg Manor, is located on Route 9 in Sleepy Hollow. Pinkster will be held from 11 a.m.
to 6 p.m., rain or shine. Cost: $9 for adults, $8 seniors, $5
children (5 - 17).
