Exhibit Focuses on Hudson River Art
Riding today's surge of interest in all aspects of the Hudson -- from art shows and tourism to shoreline improvement programs -- The Gallery on the Hudson, located on the Irvington waterfront, has opened a special invitational exhibition, "New Reflections Off the River," of recent work by 22 Westchester artists.

A silent auction of every piece, ongoing throughout the show, will provide an unusual art buying opportunity and an important fund raiser for the not-for-profit gallery.

The artists whose work is exhibited are: Eugenia Ames, Michael Bisbee, Jane Cameron, Patricia Deahl, Susan Rutman Gaertner, Eleanor Goldstein, Betsy Imershein, John Maggiotto, Tim Duch, Karin Meyers, June Otani, Elisabeth Rothschild, Carol Edelson, Marguerite Peyser, Patricia Wright, Linda Nisselson, Larry D'Amico, Peter Krusko, Gary Golio and Larry Horowitz.

Exhibited work ranges from the clearly representational to romanticized and abstract in a variety of media. The river interpretations move from Spuyten Dyvil and the Henry Hudson Bridge north to Olana (home of the painter Frederic Church) as well as to the realm of imagined essence.

The final opportunity to bid on the almost 50 works in the show will come at an auction finale champagne reception on Sunday, June 4, from 5 - 7 p.m., for which there will be an admission charge of $5 per person.

The Gallery on the Hudson, formerly Gallery at Hastings, is supported by memberships, corporations, foundations, the Westchester Arts Council and bridge Street Properties.

The Gallery is located at Suite 126, One Bridge Street, on the river side of Metro North in Irvington. Gallery hours are noon - 5 p.m., Wednesday - Saturday. 914-591-1378.
